Wanting received her M.Sc. in Material Engineering from University of Southern California (USA) in 2018. She completed her Ph.D. in material science from Institut national de la recherche scientifique (Canada) in 2024. Her research focused on the development of ultrafast transmission electron microscopy techniques (photon-induced near-field electron microscopy) and their applications in functional plasmonic materials.

Now Wanting is a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Audrey Moores and joined in Facility for Electron Microscopy Research (FEMR) at McGill. Currently, she is working on the low dose imaging, electron tomography, and artificial intelligence driven data analysis in electron microscopy.
